Paul's Behind the Wheel FAQ's

Paul's Behind the Wheel's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is an approved behind the wheel training school in North Dakota?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the North Dakota DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Paul's Behind the Wheel directly or check with the North Dakota DMV to find out for sure if Paul's Behind the Wheel is a licensed school.
Do you know if I can do my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by Paul's Behind the Wheel?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the North Dakota DMV or Paul's Behind the Wheel directly to find out if North Dakota allows parent-taught driver training.
Do I need to tell Paul's Behind the Wheel that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift car!  We recommend that you ask Paul's Behind the Wheel if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle before you sign up to take their driver training course.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on dirt roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Paul's Behind the Wheel be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a rural area, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Paul's Behind the Wheel will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Paul's Behind the Wheel directly to find out exactly what they offer.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in North Dakota?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the North Dakota Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Paul's Behind the Wheel to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in North Dakota.
Do I have to take a West Fargo North Dakota classroom or online drivers education course before I can sign up to take a driver training course through Paul's Behind the Wheel?
This requirement varies from state to state but most states do require pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Paul's Behind the Wheel if they offer one or both programs.
Does Paul's Behind the Wheel provide a hands-on driver training course like the one that is required by the State of North Dakota? I need to register for one in order to obtain my driver license.
Paul's Behind the Wheel offers hands-on driver training courses which are approved by the North Dakota DMV.  You may want to contact Paul's Behind the Wheel directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
What type of driver ed do I need before North Dakota will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to enroll in a drivers education classroom or online course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  Paul's Behind the Wheel may be able to help you fulfill the driver training requirement in North Dakota.  Please contact either Paul's Behind the Wheel or the North Dakota DMV for more information.
