Merkley's Driving School FAQ's

Since Merkley's Driving School appears on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Oklahoma DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the Oklahoma DMV.  You may want to call Merkley's Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Will the Oklahoma DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the Oklahoma DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Oklahoma.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Merkley's Driving School makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Merkley's Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Merkley's Driving School can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Merkley's Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like Merkley's Driving School will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Oklahoma?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Oklahoma Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Merkley's Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Oklahoma.
I live in Edmond Oklahoma. Does the law say I have to enroll in both a driver ed classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers successfully complete both a driver training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
