All County Drivers Training Center, Inc. FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-licensed by the New York DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in New York?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in New York.  We suggest you contact the New York DMV to make sure a particular driving school is licensed before you sign up to take their driving course.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to attend a professional driver training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do you know if All County Drivers Training Center, Inc. will let me take my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact All County Drivers Training Center, Inc. and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will All County Drivers Training Center, Inc. teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?

Are 14-year-olds eligible to obtain a learner's permit in New York?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to receive an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like All County Drivers Training Center, Inc. to find out what the minimum age for driving is in New York.
Can I take All County Drivers Training Center, Inc.'s driver training course before taking a New City New York defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what New York's laws prescribe.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on New York's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact All County Drivers Training Center, Inc. directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
