All-Star Driving School FAQ's

How do I know if All-Star Driving School is certified by New York's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include All-Star Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether All-Star Driving School is licensed by the State of New York.  We recommend that you either contact All-Star Driving School directly or possibly the New York DMV to find out if All-Star Driving School is a licensed driver training school.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in New York?
Each state has its own laws regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for enrolling in a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the New York DMV to find out for sure.
Do you know if All-Star Driving School will let me complete my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact All-Star Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will All-Star Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like All-Star Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact All-Star Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as All-Star Driving School or the New York DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in New York.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Albany New York or do I also have to successfully complete a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the New York's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to take a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
Does All-Star Driving School provide a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that is required by the State of New York? I need to sign up for one in order to obtain my driver license.
All-Star Driving School offers hands-on driver training courses which are approved by the New York DMV.  You may want to contact All-Star Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
How do I obtain a drivers license in Albany New York?
In most states, pre-licensed teens are required to complete both a classroom safe driving course and a driver training course.  All-Star Driving School may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training portion in New York.
Do I have to take a Albany New York behind-the-wheel training course in order to get a driver's license?
