Sammers Driving School FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the Indiana DMV to offer driver training courses in Indiana?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Indiana.  We suggest you contact the Indiana DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you sign up to take their driver training course.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Terre Haute Indiana driving school like Sammers Driving School to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Indiana DMV or a state-approved driving school like Sammers Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
Do I need to tell Sammers Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift car!  We recommend that you ask Sammers Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift car before you sign up to take their driver training course.
I live in a very remote area, where there are mountains and a lot of unpaved roads. Do you know if Sammers Driving School offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in city areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as Sammers Driving School will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Sammers Driving School or the Indiana DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Indiana.
I live in Terre Haute Indiana. Does the law say I have to enroll in both a driver ed classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do require that new, teen-aged drivers take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
Does Sammers Driving School provide a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that is required by the State of Indiana? I need to enroll in one in order to obtain my driver license.
Sammers Driving School offers driver training courses which are approved by the Indiana DMV.  You may want to contact Sammers Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
What do I need to do to get a driver's license in Terre Haute Indiana?

Is hands-on driver training required in Indiana in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?

Is it all right if I enroll in a behind-the-wheel training school like Sammers Driving School prior to my receiving my instruction permit?
