Kings Driving School FAQ's

Is Kings Driving School an approved driving school in California?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in California.  We highly recommend that you contact Kings Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out for sure if Kings Driving School offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of California.
Do you know if I can complete my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by Kings Driving School?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the California DMV or Kings Driving School directly to find out if California allows parent-taught driver training.
Do you know if Kings Driving School will let me complete my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Kings Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Kings Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like Kings Driving School will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Kings Driving School or the California DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in California.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course in Glendale California to get my California driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers sign up to take a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Kings Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in Glendale California. Do you know if Kings Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training classes in Glendale California?
Yes, Kings Driving School does offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Glendale California.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their behind-the-wheel training courses, please contact Kings Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a California driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the California DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is it necessary for me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get my first California driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in California are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Will California allow me to register for a driver training course before I actually receive my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you register with a behind-the-wheel training course.
