Green Light Driving School FAQ's

Can you tell me if Green Light Driving School is a certified driving school in California?
Although Green Light Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach behind-the-wheel training courses in California.  We recommend either calling Green Light Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out whether or not Green Light Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that are state-approved.
Do you know if I can do my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by Green Light Driving School?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the California DMV or Green Light Driving School directly to find out if California allows parent-taught driver training.
I can't operate a stick-shift. Will Green Light Driving School allow me to complete my driver training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact Green Light Driving School and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on dirt roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Green Light Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a rural area, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Green Light Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Green Light Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to obtain a instruction permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like Green Light Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
Can I take Green Light Driving School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Los Angeles California drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what California's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on California's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Green Light Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
If I need to enroll in a Los Angeles California driving school, can Green Light Driving School help?
Yes.  Green Light Driving School offers driving instruction in Los Angeles California.  For more information about the type of behind-the-wheel training Green Light Driving School offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What are the prerequisites in Los Angeles California for getting a drivers license?
It depends on your state's laws, however in many states, teen-agers must complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Green Light Driving School may offer an approved behind-the-wheel training course which you could take.  Please contact Green Light Driving School for information regarding their available classes and how to go about signing up for them.
Is there a law in California that says I have to take driver training in order to get my driver's license?
