Pioneer Driving School FAQ's

Is Pioneer Driving School licensed by the California DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include Pioneer Driving School in our directory of driving schools for Los Angeles California, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not Pioneer Driving School is licensed by the California DMV.  You should contact Pioneer Driving School directly and ask them if you are thinking about signing up to take their Los Angeles California driver training class.
Will the California DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the California DMV to find out if your driver training may be done by your parents in California.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Pioneer Driving School makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Pioneer Driving School and let them know before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether Pioneer Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on dirt roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Pioneer Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Pioneer Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Pioneer Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Pioneer Driving School or the California DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in California.
Will I be required to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Los Angeles California?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
