Amador Valley Driving School FAQ's

Can you tell me if Amador Valley Driving School is a licensed driver training school in California?
Although Amador Valley Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach hands-on driving courses in California.  We recommend either calling Amador Valley Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out whether or not Amador Valley Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that are state-approved.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in California, so taking a Pleasanton behind-the-wheel training course like the one Amador Valley Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the California DMV or a licensed driver training school like Amador Valley Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Amador Valley Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Pleasanton California driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Amador Valley Driving School know what your preference is before registering for their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Amador Valley Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Amador Valley Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact Amador Valley Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to obtain a instruction permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like Amador Valley Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
Will I be required to complete both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Pleasanton California?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to register for both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
I am looking to register for a Pleasanton California behind-the-wheel training course. Can Amador Valley Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  Drivers education courses are available in Pleasanton California through Amador Valley Driving School.  Please contact Amador Valley Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a California driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to register for both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the California DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is hands-on driver training required in California in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
