Dudley Driving School FAQ's

Can you tell me if Dudley Driving School is a certified driving school in Virginia?
Although Dudley Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach behind-the-wheel training courses in Virginia.  We recommend either calling Dudley Driving School directly or the Virginia DMV to find out whether or not Dudley Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle? Will Dudley Driving School allow me to do my driver training with an automatic-shift car?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of car--stick-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Dudley Driving School and let them know before you register for their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Dudley Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like Dudley Driving School will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
Now that I'm 14, will Virginia allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for an instruction permit.  We recommend that your contact the Virginia DMV office or a Virginia-approved driving school such as Dudley Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Virginia.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Virginia to get my Virginia driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers register for a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Dudley Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Does Dudley Driving School provide a driver training course like the one that is required by the State of Virginia? I need to complete one in order to obtain my driver license.
Dudley Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses which are approved by the Virginia DMV.  You may want to contact Dudley Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
What type of driver ed do I need before Virginia will give me a driver's license?
