Pacific Driver Education FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the Oregon DMV to offer driver training courses in Oregon?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in Oregon.  We suggest you contact the Oregon DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you enroll in their driver training course.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at Pacific Driver Education?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Oregon DMV or a licensed driver training school like Pacific Driver Education to find out if Oregon allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
What if I don't know how to drive a manual-shift automobile? Does Pacific Driver Education have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a Gresham Oregon driver training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- manual or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Pacific Driver Education that prior to enrolling in the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Pacific Driver Education be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Pacific Driver Education will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact Pacific Driver Education to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before registering for their training course.
Now that I'm 14, will Oregon allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for an instruction permit.  We recommend that your contact the Oregon DMV office or a Oregon-approved driver training institute such as Pacific Driver Education to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Oregon.
Will I be required to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Gresham Oregon?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to register for both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
If I need to enroll in a Gresham Oregon driving school, can Pacific Driver Education help?
Yes.  Pacific Driver Education offers behind-the-wheel training courses in Gresham Oregon.  For more information about the type of driver training Pacific Driver Education offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Oregon driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to complete both a driver training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Oregon DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to meet in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is a driver training course a prerequisite in Gresham Oregon for me to get a drivers license?
