How old do I have to be to take my learner’s permit exam?
If you are 14 years 8 months old, you can enroll in the segment 1 driver education course. This course consists of classroom, behind-the-wheel driving, and observation. You receive a certificate of completion, but this certificate is NOT a permit or license to drive.

At 14 years 9 months, you can apply for a level 1 license (learner's permit).

Who is allowed to take Online Driver’s Education?
Everyone is allowed to take our Cyber Ed Driver Ed online driver’s education for educational purposes. However you must verify with your state, whether or not they allow online drivers education for driver’s education requirements. Each state legislature will vary, and you will have to verify whether or not your state will allow online driver’s education.

What paperwork do I need before I can learn to drive a car?
When you apply for your level 1 license, you must present proof of Social Security number, proof of U.S. citizenship/legal presence, proof of identity, proof of residency, and segment 1 driver education certificate.

What if I don’t pass the test? How many times can I take the test?
Most states require you to wait a day before retaking the test.

How many questions are on the final exam at the end of this course?
This varies from state to state, but most written tests typically consist of about 35 questions.

Does your course meet all DMV requirements?
Only in TX, NV, CA and FL (as of May 2009). Outside these states, the course is offered as a supplemental driver education learning program only.

How long until I receive my certificate?
Once you complete the course we will ship you a certificate of completion.  Delivery time depends upon the method of shipping selected (US Mail or FedEx Overnight, 2nd day or 3rd day).

When can I start driving?
You can begin driving when you receive your level 1 license (learner's permit).

How long do I need to have my permit before I can get my driver’s license?
If you are under 18, you must hold your level 1 license for 6 months before you can get your level 2 license.

Am I required to do Behind the Wheel training?
If you are under 18, you must complete 2 segments of driver education. After completing segment 1, you can get your level 1 license (learner's permit).

Once you have held your level 1 license for 3 months and accumulated 30 of the 50 required hours (including 2 hours at night) of practice driving, you can enroll in segment 2 of driver education.

How many hours of supervised driving do I have to have before I can get my driver’s license?
You must accumulate 50 hours of driving, including 10 hours at night to get your Michigan driver's license.

Can my friends ride with me after I get my permit?
No, you may only drive with a licensed driver of at least 21 years of age.

Can my friends ride with me after I get my license?
Yes.

Can I drive alone with my learners permit?
No, you must be accompanied by a licensed driver of at least 21 years of age.
