How old do I have to be to take my learner’s permit exam?
In South Carolina, you must be at least 15 years old to take your learner's permit test.

Who is allowed to take Online Driver’s Education?
Everyone is allowed to take our Cyber Ed Driver Ed online driver’s education for educational purposes. However you must verify with your state, whether or not they allow online drivers education for driver’s education requirements. Each state legislature will vary, and you will have to verify whether or not your state will allow online driver’s education.

What paperwork do I need before I can learn to drive a car?
In South Carolina, you must bring your birth certificate, social security card, proof of residency and insurance information. If you are under 18 years of age, you must bring your parent or legal guardian with you to sign your application.

What if I don’t pass the test?
How many times can I take the test?  Most states require you to wait a day before retaking the test.

How many questions are on the final exam at the end of this course?
This varies from state to state, but most written tests typically consist of about 35 questions.

Does your course meet all DMV requirements?
Only in TX, NV, CA and FL (as of May 2009). Outside these states, the course is offered as a supplemental driver education learning program only.

How long until I receive my certificate?
Once you complete the course we will ship you a certificate of completion.  Delivery time depends upon the method of shipping selected (US Mail or FedEx Overnight, 2nd day or 3rd day).

When can I start driving?
In South Carolina you can begin driving (accompanied by a licensed driver of at least 21 years of age) once you’ve received your learner’s permit.

How long do I need to have my permit before I can get my driver’s license?
To apply for a South Carolina learner's permit, you must be at least 15 years of
age or older. If you have never been licensed or do not have proof of past driving experience, you must hold your beginner’s permit for 180 days before being eligible for a driver’s license.

Am I required to do Behind the Wheel training?
To apply for a South Carolina conditional driver’s license, you must bring Form PDLA that certifies you have completed a driver’s education course.

How many hours of supervised driving do I have to have before I can get my driver’s license?
To apply for a South Carolina conditional driver’s license, you must have practiced driving with your parent or legal guardian for at least 40 hours, including 10 hours of driving practice at night.

Can my friends ride with me after I get my permit?
Many states have a graduated licensing system. Minors are issued a provisional license that places restrictions on when they may drive and how many passengers they may have.

In South Carolina, if you have a provisional license, you cannot transport more than two passengers who are under the age of 21 unless you are accompanied by
a licensed adult who is at least 21 years old. The only exception is if
you are transporting family members or students to and from school.

Can I drive alone with my learners permit?
No, you may only drive from 6 a.m. to midnight, and you must be accompanied by a licensed driver of at least 21 years of age who has at least one year of
driving experience, and who is sitting in the front seat with you.
