Mr. D's Driving School FAQ's

Can you tell me if Mr. D's Driving School is a certified driver training school in Arizona?
Although Mr. D's Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach driver training courses in Arizona.  We recommend either calling Mr. D's Driving School directly or the Arizona DMV to find out whether or not Mr. D's Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Will the Arizona DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the Arizona DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Arizona.
Do I need to tell Mr. D's Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift automobile? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile!  We recommend that you ask Mr. D's Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift car before you sign up to take their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will Mr. D's Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain town, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Mr. D's Driving School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Arizona?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Mr. D's Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Arizona.
I live in Tucson Arizona. Does the law say I have to take both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers successfully complete both a driver training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
I am looking to sign up to take a Tucson Arizona defensive driving course. Can Mr. D's Driving School assist me with this?

Do I have to take drivers education to get a Arizona driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to register for both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Arizona DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to meet in order to obtain your first driver's license.
