Can you tell me if Coach Miller's Driving School is a certified driving school in Texas?
Although Coach Miller's Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently certified to teach driver training courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling Coach Miller's Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Coach Miller's Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that are state-approved.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if Coach Miller's Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Coach Miller's Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Coach Miller's Driving School can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live in a small rural community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with Coach Miller's Driving School include being taught how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for urban driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from Coach Miller's Driving School will include handling unpaved roads and mountain driving.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to obtain a instruction permit in Texas?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like Coach Miller's Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Texas.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course in Abilene Texas to get my Texas driver's license?
