Classic Driving School FAQ's

Classic Driving School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers driver training courses. How do I know if Classic Driving School is a certified school in Texas?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Texas DMV.  We suggest you contact Classic Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out if Classic Driving School is a fully-accredited driving school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Classic Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driving school like Classic Driving School to find out if Texas allows driver training with a parent.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Classic Driving School makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Classic Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Classic Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will Classic Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like Classic Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
Now that I'm 14, will Texas allow me to get an instruction permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for an instruction permit.  We recommend that your contact the Texas DMV office or a Texas-approved driving school such as Classic Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Texas.
Can I take Classic Driving School's driver training course before taking a Dallas Texas drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Texas's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Texas's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Classic Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I am looking to sign up to take a Dallas Texas drivers education course. Can Classic Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  behind-the-wheel training courses are available in Dallas Texas through Classic Driving School.  Please contact Classic Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Texas driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to complete both a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Texas DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is it necessary for me to take a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get my first Texas driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Texas must complete a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.
Is it all right if I register with a behind-the-wheel training school like Classic Driving School prior to my receiving my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already received your learner's permit before you sign up to take your driver training course like the one offered by Classic Driving School.  We suggest you contact either Classic Driving School to find out more information.
