First Class Driver FAQ's

Since First Class Driver is listed on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the Texas DMV.  You may want to call First Class Driver directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Texas?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for enrolling in a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Texas DMV to find out for sure.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does First Class Driver have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call First Class Driver to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your signing up to take their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will First Class Driver train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like First Class Driver will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
Can I apply for my Texas instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training school like First Class Driver to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Texas.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Ft. Worth Texas or do I also have to take a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Texas's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to enroll in a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
Texas law says that I must successfully complete a hands-on driver training course in order to get licensed to drive in Ft. Worth Texas. Is this something that First Class Driver can help me with?
Yes, First Class Driver offers the Texas-approved driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact First Class Driver directly.
I live in Ft. Worth Texas. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Texas driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Texas, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  First Class Driver may offer courses which would meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
What are the laws in Texas concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Texas law states that new drivers successfully complete an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Is it okay for me to register for a behind-the-wheel training class in Texas before I receive my Texas learners permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their instruction permit before they are allowed to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like First Class Driver and request more information.
