All-American Driving School FAQ's

Is All-American Driving School certified by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses?
Although we include All-American Driving School in our directory of driving schools for Garland Texas, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not All-American Driving School is certified by the Texas DMV.  You should contact All-American Driving School directly and ask them if you are thinking about registering for their Garland Texas behind-the-wheel training class.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Texas?
Each state has its own rules regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for taking a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Texas DMV to find out for sure.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does All-American Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call All-American Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will All-American Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like All-American Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as All-American Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Am I required to take a Garland Texas classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a driver training course through All-American Driving School?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask All-American Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
Texas's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if All-American Driving School offers this course or not?
All-American Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Texas requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses All-American Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact All-American Driving School directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Texas will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now require all new, young drivers to sign up to take a drivers education classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  All-American Driving School may be able to help you fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement in Texas.  Please contact either All-American Driving School or the Texas DMV for more information.
Is hands-on driver training required in Texas in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Texas must enroll in an approved driver training course before they can get a license to independently drive a motor vehicle.
Do I have to obtain my instruction permit in Texas before I am permitted to enroll in a driver training course like the one All-American Driving School gives its students?
Laws vary from state to state, however most states do require that you hold an instruction permit before you can register for a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that All-American Driving School gives its students.
