A-ABC Driving School FAQ's

Since A-ABC Driving School is listed on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the Texas DMV.  You may want to call A-ABC Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to take a professional driver training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if A-ABC Driving School makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call A-ABC Driving School and let them know before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether A-ABC Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will A-ABC Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like A-ABC Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact A-ABC Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before registering for their training course.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as A-ABC Driving School or the Texas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Texas.
Will I be required to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Irving Texas?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
