Can you tell me if San Marcos Driving School is a certified driving school in Texas?
Although San Marcos Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach driver training courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling San Marcos Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not San Marcos Driving School offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
Do you know if I can complete my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like San Marcos Driving School?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the Texas DMV or San Marcos Driving School directly to find out if Texas allows parent-taught driver training.
Do you know if San Marcos Driving School will let me take my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact San Marcos Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will San Marcos Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as San Marcos Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact San Marcos Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as San Marcos Driving School or the Texas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Texas.
Will I be required to sign up for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in San Marcos Texas?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
