Texoma Driving School FAQ's

Texoma Driving School's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is an approved behind the wheel training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Texoma Driving School directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if Texoma Driving School is a licensed school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at Texoma Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driver training school like Texoma Driving School to find out if Texas allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
What if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift automobile? Does Texoma Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my behind-the-wheel training?
If you're taking a Sherman Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- manual or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Texoma Driving School that prior to signing up to take the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if Texoma Driving School offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in city areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as Texoma Driving School will tailor your behind-the-wheel training to handle the conditions in your area.
Can I get my Texas instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction school like Texoma Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Texas.
Do I have to complete a Sherman Texas drivers education classroom course or online course before registering for one of Texoma Driving School's driver training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Texoma Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
