A Driving Advantage FAQ's

A Driving Advantage's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is an approved driver training school in Georgia?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Georgia DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact A Driving Advantage directly or check with the Georgia DMV to find out for sure if A Driving Advantage is a licensed school.
Do you know if I can complete my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by A Driving Advantage?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Georgia DMV or A Driving Advantage directly to find out if Georgia allows parent-taught driver training.
I can't drive a stick-shift. Will A Driving Advantage allow me to complete my driver training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact A Driving Advantage and ask them if you can do your behind-the-wheel training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before signing up to take their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will A Driving Advantage be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like A Driving Advantage will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact A Driving Advantage to find out exactly what their driver training course includes before registering for their training course.
I just turned 14 years old. Can I receive my learner's permit in Georgia?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding an instruction permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as A Driving Advantage to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in Georgia.
Can I take A Driving Advantage's driver training course before taking a Carrollton Georgia defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Georgia's laws prescribe.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Georgia's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved driver training course.  We recommend that you contact A Driving Advantage directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
If I need to register for a Carrollton Georgia driving school, can A Driving Advantage help?
Yes.  A Driving Advantage offers behind-the-wheel training courses in Carrollton Georgia.  For more information about the type of behind-the-wheel training A Driving Advantage offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
Exactly what type of driver education do I need in Carrollton Georgia before I can get my Georgia driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to sign up to take a drivers education classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as A Driving Advantage and ask if they offer a Georgia-approved  driver training course which would fulfill Georgia's driver's education requirements.
I live in Carrollton Georgia and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I can be licensed?
Georgia law requires that all new drivers successfully complete an approved behind-the-wheel training program before receiving their Georgia driver's license.  A Driving Advantage may offer a driver training course that you are looking for.  Please contact A Driving Advantage directly for complete information as to what types of driver training courses they offer.
Can I sign up to take a Georgia driver training course prior to having my Georgia learners permit?
