Advance Academy FAQ's

Is Advance Academy a certified driving school in Georgia?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in Georgia.  We highly recommend that you contact Advance Academy directly or the Georgia DMV to find out for sure if Advance Academy offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of Georgia.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Georgia?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for enrolling in a driver training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Georgia DMV to find out for sure.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if Advance Academy makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Advance Academy and let them know before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether Advance Academy will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will Advance Academy train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like Advance Academy will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to obtain a instruction permit in Georgia?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like Advance Academy to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Georgia.
Do I have to complete a Conyers Georgia drivers education classroom course or online course before signing up to take one of Advance Academy's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Advance Academy if they offer one or both programs.
I have to take a behind-the-wheel class in Conyers Georgia before Georgia will give me my driver's license. Does Advance Academy offer this type of course?
Advance Academy does offer the behind-the-wheel training course in Conyers Georgia that is required by the State of Georgia.  You will need to contact Advance Academy directly for more information about the behind-the-wheel courses they offer and their class schedules.
What do I need to do to get a Georgia drivers license in Conyers Georgia?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  Advance Academy may be able to help you fulfill the driver training portion in Georgia.  Please contact Advance Academy for more information.

Is it necessary for me to take a driver training course in order to get my first Georgia driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Georgia must complete a state-approved driver training course.
Can I register for a Georgia-approved behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my Georgia instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Georgia instruction permit before registering in a Georgia driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Advance Academy and ask for more information.
