Taggart?s Driving School FAQ's

Taggart?s Driving School's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is a licensed driver training school in Georgia?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Georgia DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Taggart?s Driving School directly or check with the Georgia DMV to find out for sure if Taggart?s Driving School is a licensed school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Georgia, so taking a Tucker driver training course like the one Taggart?s Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Georgia DMV or a licensed driving school like Taggart?s Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle? Will Taggart?s Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift car?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating any type of vehicle--stick-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Taggart?s Driving School and let them know before you register for their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
Since I live way out in the country where driving on unpaved roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Taggart?s Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Taggart?s Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Taggart?s Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Can I apply for my Georgia instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driver training school like Taggart?s Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Georgia.
Am I required to take a Tucker Georgia classroom or online drivers education course before I can register for a driver training course through Taggart?s Driving School?
This requirement varies from state to state but most states do require new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Taggart?s Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I'm required to take a driver training course in Tucker Georgia. Do you know if Taggart?s Driving School offers defensive driving classes in Tucker Georgia?
Yes, Taggart?s Driving School does offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Tucker Georgia.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their defensive driving courses, please contact Taggart?s Driving School directly.
How do I obtain a drivers license in Tucker Georgia?

Do I have to take a Tucker Georgia behind-the-wheel training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in Georgia must successfully complete an approved behind-the-wheel training course in order to receive a driver's license.  Please contact Taggart?s Driving School for information on the types of behind-the-wheel training courses they offer in Tucker Georgia.
Will Georgia allow me to register for a driver training course before I actually receive my instruction permit?
