Jeff's Driving School FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-certified by the Ohio DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Ohio?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Ohio.  We suggest you contact the Ohio DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is licensed before you register for their driving course.
I've been told that either of my parents can supervise my driver training, so I don't have to attend a Cincinnati Ohio driving school like Jeff's Driving School to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Ohio DMV or a state-approved driver training school like Jeff's Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
Do I need to tell Jeff's Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift car.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift car!  We recommend that you ask Jeff's Driving School if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift automobile before you register for their driver training course.
Since I live way out in the country where driving on unpaved roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Jeff's Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a remote location, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Jeff's Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Jeff's Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Can I get my Ohio instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction school like Jeff's Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Ohio.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Cincinnati Ohio or do I also have to register for a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Ohio's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to enroll in a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
