Watt Authorized Driving School FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-certified by the Ohio DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Ohio?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently accredited to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Ohio.  We suggest you contact the Ohio DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is certified before you sign up to take their driving course.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a stick-shift vehicle? Will Watt Authorized Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift automobile?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of car--stick-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Watt Authorized Driving School and let them know before you register for their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
What happens to those of us who live in a rural area? Will Watt Authorized Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like Watt Authorized Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
Now that I'm 14, will Ohio allow me to get an instruction permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the Ohio DMV office or a Ohio-approved driver training institute such as Watt Authorized Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Ohio.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Cleveland Ohio or do I also have to enroll in a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Ohio's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to register for a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
