Alpine Driving School FAQ's

Is Alpine Driving School certified by the Michigan DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include Alpine Driving School in our directory of driving schools for Southfield Michigan, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not Alpine Driving School is certified by the Michigan DMV.  You should contact Alpine Driving School directly and ask them if you are thinking about registering for their Southfield Michigan behind-the-wheel training class.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Michigan, so taking a Southfield driving school course like the one Alpine Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Michigan DMV or a licensed driver training school like Alpine Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
Do you know if Alpine Driving School will let me complete my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Alpine Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if Alpine Driving School will train me on how to drive in a rural area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Alpine Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Alpine Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rugged terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Alpine Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you register with them.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in Michigan?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Michigan Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Alpine Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Michigan.
I live in Southfield Michigan. Does the law say I have to register for both a driver ed classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
Michigan law says that I must successfully complete a driver training course in order to get licensed to drive in Southfield Michigan. Is this something that Alpine Driving School can help me with?
Yes, Alpine Driving School offers the Michigan-approved driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact Alpine Driving School directly.
I live in Southfield Michigan. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Michigan driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Michigan, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Alpine Driving School may offer courses which would fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
What does the law in Michigan say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Michigan law states that new drivers successfully complete an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Can I enroll in a Michigan behind-the-wheel training course prior to having my Michigan learners permit?
