Crosstown Driving School FAQ's

Crosstown Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed driver training school in Michigan?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Michigan DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Crosstown Driving School directly or check with the Michigan DMV to find out for sure if Crosstown Driving School is a licensed school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Crosstown Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Michigan DMV or a licensed driving school like Crosstown Driving School to find out if Michigan allows driver training with a parent.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if Crosstown Driving School makes me train on a stick-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Crosstown Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Crosstown Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on unpaved roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Crosstown Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a remote location, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Crosstown Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Crosstown Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to obtain a learner's permit in Michigan?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Michigan Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like Crosstown Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Michigan.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course in Grand Ledge Michigan to get my Michigan driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers register for a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Crosstown Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Michigan's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if Crosstown Driving School offers this course or not?
