Davidson Driving School FAQ's

Since Davidson Driving School is listed on your website, does this mean they are approved by the North Carolina DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the North Carolina DMV.  You may want to call Davidson Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile? Does Davidson Driving School have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my behind-the-wheel training?
If you're taking a Lexington North Carolina driver training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- stick or automatic.  However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell Davidson Driving School that prior to enrolling in the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Davidson Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain town, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Davidson Driving School will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Can I apply for my North Carolina learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction school like Davidson Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in North Carolina.
Can I take Davidson Driving School's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Lexington North Carolina defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what North Carolina's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on North Carolina's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Davidson Driving School directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
