Viva Driving School FAQ's

Viva Driving School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if Viva Driving School is a licensed school in California?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the California DMV.  We suggest you contact Viva Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out if Viva Driving School is a fully-accredited driver training school.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required behind-the-wheel training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a stick-shift vehicle? Will Viva Driving School allow me to do my driver training with an automatic-shift automobile?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of car--manual-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Viva Driving School and let them know before you register for their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Viva Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driving school like Viva Driving School will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Are 14-year-olds allowed to apply for a learner's permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to receive a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like Viva Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
Do I have to take both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course in Pasadena California to get my California driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers sign up to take a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Viva Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
