Safety Center Driving School FAQ's

Safety Center Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is an approved driver training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Safety Center Driving School directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if Safety Center Driving School is a licensed school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at Safety Center Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driver training school like Safety Center Driving School to find out if Texas allows driver training with a parent.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Safety Center Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a Houston Texas driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a manual-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Safety Center Driving School know what your preference is before enrolling in their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a small rural town, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my driver training with Safety Center Driving School include learning how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for city driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to be taught how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the driver training you receive from Safety Center Driving School will include handling unpaved roads and mountain driving.
Can 14-year-olds get instruction permits to drive in Texas?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for a learner's permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to obtain an instruction permit.  You may want to contact the Texas DMV or a Texas-approved driver training school like Safety Center Driving School to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Texas.
Do I have to take a Houston Texas classroom or online drivers education course before I can register for a driver training course through Safety Center Driving School?
This requirement varies from state to state but most states do require pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Safety Center Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
Does Safety Center Driving School provide a driver training course like the one that is required by the State of Texas? I need to complete one in order to obtain my driver license.
Safety Center Driving School offers hands-on driver training courses which are approved by the Texas DMV.  You may want to contact Safety Center Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
What do I need to do to get a Texas drivers license in Houston Texas?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Safety Center Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Texas.  Please contact Safety Center Driving School for more information.

Am I required to take a Houston Texas behind-the-wheel training course?
